Browser Extension Privacy Policy

What the extension does

VisaJobs.ie Job Check helps job seekers assess the active job listing they choose to check. It shows employer work-permit history, sponsorship wording from the job description, possible Irish employment-permit routes, salary threshold signals, optional profile fit scoring, tracker save, and application or outreach notes.

The extension runs only when you click the browser action. It does not run as an always-on page scanner.

Data read from job pages

The extension may read the following from the active job page:

• job title;
• employer or trading name;
• location;
• advertised salary and contract details when visible;
• source listing ID and page URL;
• job description text;
• public recruiter name, public recruitment email, team or reporting line when printed in the job description.

The extension does not read private messages, private connection graphs, saved passwords, form fields, unrelated browser history, or pages you did not choose to check.

What is sent to VisaJobs

For public permit and sponsor checks, the extension sends only the source listing ID, employer name, role title and advertised annual salary to api.visajobs.ie. The job description and full page URL are not sent for the public check.

If you connect your VisaJobs account and click Save to tracker, Score my fit, or an application helper, the current job snapshot may be sent to VisaJobs so it can be saved to your tracker or compared with your saved profile. Saving persists the snapshot you chose to save. Transient fit scoring does not save the description.

Account connection

Account connection uses Chrome's web authentication flow. The extension stores an extension access token in Chrome extension storage. It does not read the website's HTTP-only session cookie.

You can disconnect by removing the extension or clearing its extension storage.

Candidate profile and CV data

Your VisaJobs profile, CV, experience, education and visa details remain on VisaJobs servers. The extension does not store those profile records locally. When you request a fit score, VisaJobs returns derived results such as strengths, gaps, blockers and missing profile fields.

Storage and retention

The extension caches compact public lookup results locally for up to six hours to reduce repeated network requests. It also stores the extension account token after you connect. Job descriptions and page URLs are not cached by the public check.

Jobs saved to your tracker are retained according to the main VisaJobs privacy policy. You can manage saved jobs in your tracker.

What we do not do

• We do not sell extension data.
• We do not use extension data for third-party advertising.
• We do not scrape personal email addresses from private sources.
• We do not scrape private LinkedIn connections or messages.
• We do not automatically apply to jobs.
• We do not automatically send recruiter or referral messages.
